Temporary checker information
Your checker answers are held temporarily in your web browser so you can move between questions and recover the journey after a refresh. They are not automatically turned into a saved project.
Postcodes
A postcode is requested to help identify the relevant local planning authority. The current public checker does not send the postcode to a council or use it to make a formal planning decision.
Accounts
If account-saving is introduced or enabled, BuildGuide will explain what is being stored before you choose to save a project. The public guidance journey remains usable without creating an account.
Removing temporary answers
Select “Start again”, close the browser session or clear the site data in your browser to remove temporary checker answers.
